In Precalculus, students can literally grasp the math with TI-Nspire technology: they can grab and drag function graphs or linked objects and observe how their numerical, algebraic, or graphical properties change.
The TI-Nspire technology allows you to:
- Show relationships between the graph of a function, the equation of the function, and a table of values for the function all on the same screen.
- Display mathematical expressions and equations-including matrices, piecewise defined functions, complex numbers, and rational functions-that are displayed in a form identical to those found in a textbook.
- Create sliders and animate the graphs of polynomial, rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions, allowing students to make connections between the algebraic, numerical, and graphical representations of a function.
- Study trigonometric functions-including the cosecant, secant, and cotangent functions-from a geometric and analytic perspective.
- Construct conic sections from a geometric definition and use the dynamic features of TI-Nspire to observe their characteristics change graphically and analytically.
- Introduce calculus concepts-such as limits and derivatives-by manipulating objects and observing graphical and numerical changes.
With TI-Nspire CAS technology, you can also:
- Find compositions of functions symbolically
- Find exact answers to limits, sequences, and series involving fractions, ∏, and radical notation
